The gun's primary intent was to be used as a target gun, the weight of 8 lbs. 3 oz. is a great weight for this. Also since Michael would advise students that a shotgun is pointed and a rifle aimed, the front sight has been removed. Michael wrote an entire chapter on the fine line of Marocchi shotguns for Shooting Sportsman Magazine, the story was consolidated in the Gun Review Book, published by Down East Books in 1997. If you look carefully you'll see the picture of Michael on the back cover of the Gun Review Book, showing the author proudly carrying his Marocchi Conquista over his shoulder. |
